Luke 10:8-11 (Common English Bible)
8 Whenever you enter a city and its people welcome you, eat what they set before you. 9 Heal the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘God’s kingdom has come upon you.’ 10 Whenever you enter a city and the people don’t welcome you, go out into the streets and say, 11 ‘As a complaint against you, we brush off the dust of your city that has collected on our feet. But know this: God’s kingdom has come to you.’
Summary:
Our worship theme in July is “Can I Live?” We are exploring how God guides us to live in the face of distractions and obstacles before us. We will encounter interruptions, but Jesus helps us stay the course of life.
When you live in your purpose, everyone won’t like it or appreciate it. When this happens, Jesus teaches us to “Brush the dust off our feet” and keep on living. Our lives aren’t valuable based on whether people receive us or not. Our contribution to life is measured on whether we do what God has called us to do and live as Christ has called us to live!
Reflection Questions:
- What makes life worth living for you?
- What do you do to help others that brings you life as well?
- Who do you pray God helps you forgive so you can “shake the dust off your feet” and move on?
