Guest Speaker:

Joseph Luckett is a Los Angeles native, and the Founder/CEO of Affluent Solution Group, a creative marketing agency.  Due to his notable effectiveness in the space of sports marketing, Joe has had the opportunity to transition from working in-house for brands to taking them on as clients.  Born into a family of educators, Joseph has always placed a high priority on the pursuit of higher education, earning his B.S. in Sports Marketing from Prairie View A&M University.  His passion for Sports Marketing began once he secured a spot as a volunteer, then worked his way up to Marketing Director for Invictus91, a unique sports marketing agency based in Texas.   After seven years of executing countless successful marketing campaigns for sports professionals, Joe decided to return home to Los Angeles and transition into the next chapter of his life and career.

At this point, Joe was forced to confront the realities of the hostile job market after his move, and decided to pursue the entrepreneurship route instead.  In 2012, he launched Affluent Solution Group, and immediately discovered a client base within his current network. Joseph began providing services to LAUSD, professional athletes, and some of the top restaurants around Los Angeles.  His fortunate success throughout the first few years have afforded him the opportunity to expand his staff beyond the team of one that he began with, as well as expand his services to include more out-of-the-box gorilla marketing campaigns and strategies.  In addition to being a young CEO on the rise, Joseph Luckett is deeply rooted in his community, and has served as Director of Youth Ministry at Holman United Methodist Church since 2014. Joseph’s ultimate vision is to grow his company into a position where he can consistently conduct philanthropic activities to benefit underserved communities.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (Common English Bible)

23 Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable.

24 And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. 25 Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near.

Summary:

On this Sunday before Thanksgiving, we recall the words of the Letter to the Hebrews that challenge us to gather together, encourage one another and serve others in Jesus’ name. When we give back to the community, we give thanks for what God has given us!

Reflection Questions:

  1. What has God given you that you are thankful for?
  2. How is God calling you to give back?
