Matthew 14:25-27 (Common English Bible)

25 Very early in the morning he came to his disciples, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” They were so frightened they screamed.
27 Just then Jesus spoke to them, “Be encouraged! It’s me. Don’t be afraid.”

Summary:

To journey as disciples of Jesus, we have to “get involved!” Our journey includes being in covenant with others, blessing those we don’t yet know and belonging to God and one another through worship. Get up, get into it and get involved!

In this scripture, Jesus shows that we can trust him in the midst of the storm. As disciples, we must join together in small groups to encourage and challenge each other to “find Jesus” when we are filled with fear. We must “get up” to join together and get through the storm.
