Matthew 14:19 (Common English Bible)

He ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looked up to heaven, blessed them and broke the loaves apart and gave them to his disciples. Then the disciples gave them to the crowds.

Summary:

To journey as disciples of Jesus, we have to “get involved!” Our journey includes being in covenant with others, blessing those we don’t yet know and belonging to God and one another through worship. Get up, get into it and get involved!

In this scripture, Jesus challenges the disciples to get out of their comfort zone to help feed the crowd. In order to be a disciple, we must “get up” and respond to the assignments Christ gives us! When we get involved, we are participating in our healing and the healing of our community.
