Luke 12:32-34 (Common English Bible)

32 “Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights in giving you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to those in need. Make for yourselves wallets that don’t wear out—a treasure in heaven that never runs out. No thief comes near there, and no moth destroys.34 Where your treasure is, there your heart will be too.

Summary:

Based on John Wesley’s General Rules for Christian Living our worship series for August is themed, The Blueprint: A Guide to Follow Jesus. We are exploring a “blueprint” of what it is to be followers of Jesus Christ.

As God finds joy in “doing good” for us. We find joy when doing good for others. When we follow the way of Jesus, we discover true treasure in life by being a blessing to the world. When we follow Jesus, we are co-creators with God of “a new heaven and a new earth!”

Reflection Questions:

  1. How does it feel do know that God “delights” in blessing us?
  2. When was the last time you “delighted” in blessing someone else?
  3. How are you “blessed to be a blessing” right now?
