#LoveYourNeighbor: 14,181 signatures submitted to put rent control on the ballot

Our church council voted to join the Uplift Inglewood Coalition and organize in the effort for rent stabilization in our city . Thank you and praise God for everyone who made a phone call, canvassed the community, donated funds, sent prayers or served in any way to support the campaign. We believe joining the effort for fair housing in our city is the fulfillment of Jesus’ call to love our neighbors and love our selves.

From Uplift Inglewood:

Today, the Uplift Inglewood Coalition submitted 14,181 signatures to put rent control on the ballot in the City of Inglewood! Amazing work by everyone who helped achieve this major milestone. The charter amendment aims to stabilize the amount landlords can increase rents. Why do we need rent control? Because our residents have experienced rent increases of as much as $1,000 on short notice. That is why we are taking action to ensure that Inglewood residents have access to secure housing into the future. Join us the coalition!! upliftinglewood.org/volunteer
