Guest Speaker: Jane Stewart
Jane Stewart, daughter of a Methodist pastor, is currently serving as the Conference United Methodist Women Secretary and the Chairperson for the Legacy Endowment Fund Committee. She has held several offices within the Conference, District, and local level throughout her over 50 year membership in this organization. She is a Certified Lay Servant, is a member of Lakewood First UMC and currently serves as a Core Leader for Community Bible Study, an interdenominational, world-wide Bible study organization that brings people together as they fellowship around the study of the Word of God.
She has a passion for serving the Lord as mandated in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with al your heart, as working for the Lord.” Jane loves composing poems, skits and meditations. Has written articles
in the 2002 UMW National Assembly Reflection Book, the response magazine, and a prayer program in the 2005 Spanish issue of the UMW Program Book. She wrote and performed a song in memory of her mother on Talent night at the 2006 UMW National Assembly in Anaheim, and also wrote and performed a song for Imagine No Malaria at UMW Mission U 2014.
Outside of the church realm, she loves to keep busy [busier] with a variety of different pleasures, but some of her favorite are: karaoke, leading women’s retreats and workshops, spending time with grown kids, grandkids, sibling gatherings, and ironing… yes ironing!
Her life drastically changed with the loss of her husband in 2008 but adds that the Lord has given her a new direction and a deeper relationship with Him and finds new strength and commitment each and every day as she
serves the Lord.
